State of the State Breakdown

On January 10, 2023, Governor Kathy Hochul presented her State of the State Address to the New York State Legislature. The speech outlines key policy initiatives that will be part of the Governor’s 2023 Legislative Agenda. The Business Council worked closely with Governor Hochul’s staff over the last several months, providing suggestions that our members believe would benefit the New York State business community. Although not all of the Business Council’s recommendations were part of the address, we are glad that several of our key initiatives were considered.

A complete breakdown of initiatives by issue area of concern to our members can be found here.

Putnam County has kicked off a new era of progress and representation! At the recent swearing in ceremony for elected officials, it was an inspiring sight to behold – people from all backgrounds and parties came together with hope and optimism that they could be part of something bigger.

To ensure businesses’ voices are heard throughout this journey, the Putnam County Business Council will be working closely with all these elected officials on your behalf. Be sure to reach out to us with any issues or concerns you need help with.

Putnam County Business Council is also creating a directory connecting business owners or leaders to their respective state, county or federal representatives. Look for this by the end of the month.
