<h3>New York State Tax Filing &amp; Payment Deadline Moved</h3>
<p>Governor Cuomo has issued an executive order (202.12) authorizing the Tax Commissioner to provide relief from certain tax filing and payment deadlines. In response, the Tax Commissioner has extended the April 15, 2020 due date to July 15, 2020, for New York State personal income tax and corporation tax returns originally due on April 15, 2020. In addition, the Commissioner is allowing taxpayers to defer all related tax payments due on April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed.</p>

<h3>Op/Ed: Budget Decisions Will Tell If New York State is Serious About Economic Recovery</h3>
<p>The Business Council wrote an op/ed urging New York State lawmakers to be fiscally prudent with the state&#8217;s fiscal year 2021 budget, due Wednesday, April 1. Six business groups across New York State signed the op/ed in support.</p>

<h3>Coronavirus Cases</h3>
<p>As of this posting there were 59,513 confirmed cases in New York State with 33,768 confirmed cases in New York City.</p>

<li>Governor Cuomo extended the &#8216;PAUSE&#8217; directive to April 15 which includes nonessential businesses to work from home for an additional two weeks.  <a href="https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/amid-ongoing-covid-19-pandemic-governor-cuomo-announces-nys-pause-functions-extended-next-two">Read the Governor&#8217;s press release here.</a></li>
<li>The federal government has approved four new sites for temporary hospitals &#8211; the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, the Aqueduct Racetrack facility in Queens, CUNY Staten Island and the New York Expo Center in the Bronx &#8211; adding an additional 4,000 beds.</li>
<li>New Yorkers without Health Insurance can apply through NY State of Health within 60 days of losing coverage. <a href="https://nystateofhealth.ny.gov/">Details here.</a></li>
<li>Testing remains free for all eligible New Yorkers as ordered by a health care provider.</li>
