Filling out the census is one of the most important things we can do this year to make sure that New York gets its fair share of federal funding.

New York has historically been undercounted, which in turn limits our access to federal funds for schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and much more. For every person not counted, New York loses approximately $2,600.

Newly released date from the 2020 Census indicates that 65.3% of the population in my district has filled out their census forms. Statewide, the response rate is 57.7% and nationally, the response rate is 62.2%. Below, please find a breakdown of this data per municipality.

NYS Announces $1.5M to Fight Food InsecurityP

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced $1.5 million in funding for ‘Feeding New York State’ to support its network of 10 regional food banks, as well as local farms to help provide milk and produce to food insecure New Yorkers. This funding, made available through the State’s Environmental Protection Fund, is in response to the increased need for food bank services due to the economic and public health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and also supports the State’s ongoing efforts to prevent food waste.
