BUSINESS MEETS POLICY: SPEED SESSIONS WITH ELECTED LEADERS

The Putnam County Business Council Board has been talking a lot recently about how we can make our September Business Leadership Summit a truly compelling event.

Here is the SAVE THE DATE information:

2024 Business Leadership Summit

Putnam Golf Club

187 Hill Street, Mahopac, New York

Thursday, September 19, 2024

7:30 AM to 10:00 AM

Part of the program will be an opportunity to interact with the County’s elected officials. We have been referring to this portion as “The Elected Officials Roundtable”.

But that sounds like the same old, tired and impersonal format. Too many officials talking about topics of interest to them (particularly on the eve of the general election). Limited opportunity to address the specific issue that is on each participant’s mind. A few questions from the audience, but no real opportunity to build a better personal relationship with the leaders who can have a direct impact on a participant’s business.

So what if we change the format. One 60 minute group discussion becomes a series of 15 minute individual discussions as each elected leader hosts a roundtable and meets with small groups on a rotating basis. Each participant could meet “up close and personal” with up to 4 elected leaders over the course of an hour (or depending on their interest and the availability of seats at the roundtable they could spend more than 15 minutes with a particular leader).

Now we refer to the elected officials portion of the program as:

“BUSINESS MEETS POLICY: SPEED SESSIONS WITH ELECTED LEADERS”

Hopefully this will be a useful format and a good fit with the other parts of this “must attend, can’t miss” program, which are a Keynote Address by LinkedIn Local Hudson Valley and a Small Business Loan Update.

Have a good rest of the summer. See you bright and early on Thursday September 19th, if not before then. Please SAVE THAT DATE.
